Is there a method to lock lines to the horizontal or vertial position?? In Snagit holding down the Shift key does this. Is there an equivalent in Xchange?

How odd that you haven't tried it?
Yes. Shift will constrain a line to multiples of 45°
Shift will also constrain rectangles to squares, and ellipses to circles.
