I just lost a bunch of comments I made to a PDF file because I clicked on the close button, and when prompted to save changes I said yes, but got the error message (Error [IO subsystem]: Invalid access mode).
I learned the hard way in the past that this can happen if the file was open or in use somewhere else. But this time there was no other instance of the file open, nor was Acrobat in use... So I was overconfident...
I eventually figured out that the "other instance" of the file was the preview window in Vista.
To reproduce:
1) In Vista: Search for file name (or keyword) in a search window. Preview pane showing. Double click on file name.
2) File opens in PDF-Xchange. (search window is now behind PDFX, with the document preview showing).
3) Make an edit, and try to save- error message results.
Other programs will tell you that the file can not be saved, and either give you a "cancel" button to stop the closure of the open diocument, or some automatically open the save-as dialog box. Can this be added in a future release? Thanks!
Changes accidently lost again... can you add "save-as"?
