Selection and formatting of text

Just been trying 41 RC1 and noticed that a couple of things:

proper selection of words using Ctrl+Shft - it still does only 1 character at once

changing from e.g. bold to normal now works immediately instead of 'sticking' - thank you for this, makes it much easier to do.
