programmatic import/export of annotations
Hello,
I'm evaluating PDF Xchange viewer for integration in a web application. I'm mostly interested in the annotations functionality. I found your product to be very good under this aspect. But I need the ability to programmatically import/export annotations. I've looked through the provided documentation and the samples but cannot find any info on how to do that.
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
-Luca

Re: programmatic import/export of annotations
Exporting of annotations into XFDF format is realized via user interface (Comments -> Export Comments to Data File) and, into build 41.0, via JavaScript (function exportAsXFDF).
Into build 41.1 importAnFDF and importAnXFDF functions of JavaScript will be available, but for now they will not import annotations, just form fields data.
Full support of import/export annotations should be added into build 42.0

Re: programmatic import/export of annotations
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Can you tell me when build 42.0 will be released? (More or less)
When you say that these are javascript method, do you mean that these methods can be called from the web page that contains the activex viewer object? Can you post a few lines of code as an example?
Thanks again

Re: programmatic import/export of annotations
The PDF-XChange viewer supports JavaScript (as specified by the PDF Specification). So, if your are using the Viewer ActiveX, you can execute JavaScript. For more details, see the JS specification for PDF

No,
Sorry - if only life were that exact ...
Approx 4 weeks would be the closest we can offer at this time, possibly sooner.
