criminal usability flaw that made me lost time!

Post by urlwolf »

When inside a comment box, escape deletes all text you typed.
and there's no control Z to recover.

Congratulations, you just violated all expectations and guidelines in windows GUI and made this user hate your guts with passion.

I won't use this software again until this is fixed, and honestly, I distrust it now enough to use it at all. Sorry but you have lost an user today.

Grow up - such banal and emotional comments are unhelpful and do not reflect the overwhelming sentiments of the huge majority of users both enjoying the PDF-XChange Viewer and posting here.

If you wish to make rational and helpful comments they are welcome - but if this is your best effort - sorry to say we are pleased to have lost you !
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards

On the contrary, I think those emotional reactions to software are the best 'bug reports' (or usability reports) a company can get. If you can turn an overly pleased customer into a person that will not use the product with one single flaw, I bet you something that the maker will want to know what the flaw was. In fact, your reaction was overly emotional. You cannot discard emotions as bad, and think my post is not valuable, because I value my time a lot and I'm investing it in making these two comments.

I discarded my reply to your initial post because I thought you would not be open to correction.

Your childish outburst violated all guidelines for basic forum etiquette, yet you regard yourself as an academic. The point you had about the wrong behaviour of the Escape key was valid, but the way you expressed this shows an abysmal lack of maturity.

urlwolf,

We welcome criticism, bug reports and negative comments and value them to assist us in improving our products - to the benefit of both our clients and ourselves - but we do not welcome this kind of emotional rant :
..... made this user hate your guts with passion.
If you cannot see the difference- then as stated previously we would rather not have your input.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards
