I lately came around with some issues regarding the fact that MS provides an x64 as well as an x86 version of IE in 64-bit OS. I noticed that PDFs won't display in the 32-bit version - and so they don't get displayed in any application that uses an IE window to preview files (like XYPlorer does).
I worked around this issue by simply copying the 32-bit version of PDFXCviewIEPlugin.dll from a 32-bit installation (extracted installer may also work - it is the smaller file) to the x32 subfolder of the installation directory and afterwards registering the file.
Maybe the installer should do this automatically. Are there any side effects to be expected with this method?

Did you install the viewer using .exe or .msi installer ?
