Callout without Border

Is it not possible to create a callout without the border. I set the border weight to 0 but it seems to make no difference

If you could set the stroke width to zero, then the arrow would disappear too, so your callout would not be much use. Try setting the stroke colour to white to see the problem.

You can use a text box and and arrow.

You can set border color to same color as Callout background. Fully remove border is impossible (restricted by PDF specification).

Can't set the color to match the background beause the arrow disappears also.

Like Bhikkhu said, how about an arrow annot. and a textbox. That would give you the appearance you are looking for, no?

Set white text on a dark background, then set the border and arrow to the same dark colour.
