There are various ways to summarize comments, but the one most obvious I would expect is not there:
extract pages with comments
One get can it by summarizing comments and then cropping pages, ... it's a bit inconvenient.
And what I would consider killer feature (from the student point of view), is if the program would be able to extract such pages from all files in a given directory. I would have all my comments/notes (within their context on a page) in a single file at the touch of a button. That would be FANTASTIC!!!

Re: Summarize comments
extract only pages from the file that have some comment on it. Say I highlight something on page 5 and draw a rectangle around some table on page 100, then this feature would create a new file with just two pages, 5 and 100. That's it. Simple.Ivan - Tracker Software wrote:Can you explain more what you mean?extract pages with comments
The rationale behind it is twofold:
- sometimes the text around the actual comment can give some additional information that place the actual comment into context. Therefore it's preferrable to extract more that the actual comment, a whole page is a perfect candidate.
- often "text" as a carrier of information is not enough. Perfect example is table or graph or some math formulas, where you need more that just unformated comment to represent the object.
I already do "extract only pages with comment on them" workaround when I study/review from my comments:
- first I join many pdf files into one.
- then I "summarize comments" using "Documents and comments on a single page"
- and then crop the pages back to original to get only the page, to get rid on the summarized text on the right side.
Print, and review
But it takes too much time to prepare the review material
Still worth doing the long way, I just thought this could be interesting feature for some (I would guess students in similar situation as myself)

Re: Summarize comments
Sorry for reviving this thread, but after trying many alternatives in my study patterns, the suggestion in this thread always comes up as the most productive one.
The problem is that joining a lot of pdf files becomes impossible because it attemps to create pdf file with thousands of pages (it should be much more easier first parse the single pdf and keed only pages with comments and then join).
Anyone else who would find some use to get summarized comments not only from a single file but from all files in say a given directory?
Even better than summarizing comments (which flattens comments and forces unique page size), would be a feature/tool that just goes file by file and creates a new pdf file that combines them but keeps only the pages with comments on them. Should be quite easy to do. Anyone knows of such a tool? I'm willing to spare some cash on this feature alone. Many thanks for consideration or any suggestion.
