Drawing lines close to each other

Post by ksudavid »

I commonly draw 2 lines in an "X" fashion to mark out items on drawings. I am having an issue when trying to draw the 2nd line to form the X. I either have to start my 2nd line a large distance from the first or start it outside of the endpoint boundaries of the first. If I try to just make a simple X I cannot place the 2nd line without several clicks. My work around right now is to start the 2nd line a long ways from the first then just drag its length to the correct position. There seems to be an issue when placing the 2nd line.

I don't see this issue with other markup tools. Just the line tool. Could someone else try to draw X's using the line tool and see if they see the same thing.

Which build of the viewer do you use?

Will check. At least cannot reproduce with 42.0.

Maybe it's not an issue. I found the enhancement of using the Shift Key to place markups on top of each other. Using this workflow fixes the issue. It's as if my pick window size is too large but I don't know how to change it. As long as Shift works I'm satisfied.

Thanks,
David

Maybe easier would be to turn on Properties toolbar (Ctrl+E) if it is not turned on, and select "Keep Tool selected" on it when required tool is active? :?

It is selected. Attached is a short video showing the problem. In the video I try to place the 2nd line twice and on the 3rd try I move past the end of the first line.
