Text not showing on PDF file.

PDF Xchange is a great program but I can't figure out what I have done wrong. I have PDF files that have text in them (not an image pdf) and when I open them the words don't show but if I open in adobe acrobat they do. Some how the text seems to be the same color as the white page since I can select and copy the text and paste it somewhere else but it wont print. Please help me reset this problem. Thank you.

The support folks at Tracker will need to see the file in order to analyze what is going wrong. You can post the file here in this forum, but you must include it in a zip file or it will get stripped from the board.

If the file contains confidential data you can send it by e-mail. I don't recall the e-mail address to use but I'm sure one of the Tracker forum moderators will supply it.

Not sure if I can post a copy of the pdf file or email it but I also failed to mention that this has happened to more than one file and it started a few days ago. I have had the software for a bit over a week now and was fine at first. So far the few documents that have text that I have used this past week have this issue so I doubt its a file issue but more of a setting I may have somehow changed while looking thru the features. Maybe I can find a file that is not so sensitive that I can post if I have the same problem.

Is it possible that you are getting all the problematic files from the same source? Then still there might be something wrong with those files (or with our software not being able to display them correctly) In any way a file causing this problem would be helpful, and I assure you that if you send it to pdfxview@tracker-software.com with a link to this topic we will investigate and keep your information confidential and only use the file for testing purposes and nothing more.

And if you think it's some settings you changed you can always start over:
Edit -> Save settings - to make a backupp of your current ones and then
Edit -> Reset all settings to default

to see if this will solve your displaying problems.

No, it's not from the same source. I did the reset settings thing but that didn't work. I will send a copy of the pdf file and hope you see the same thing I do. Thank you.

And the answer:

"The file is corrupted. Seems like it has been transfered over FTP as text data and extra special characters (LF/CR) have been added.
For the moment we can not handle such corruption."

Interesting, so it is the file. It is being sent to us via email and it might be getting corrupted in the process since our emails are scrutinized to avoid viruses. Strange how it doesn't happen to all the invoice though. Thank you for the reply.

I did some more research and found that the location from which we receive these pdf documents thru email seems to be consistent with all their pdf document of the same format having this problem. They have pdf documents of different formats but these seem to be the only ones who have this issue. Interesting. Thank you. I will keep this in mind.
