PDF-XChange access privilege in posting reply

Post by islandmyth »

Hello again!

I've been using the free trial for weeks now! I noticed that I can lock my comments and I am glad about this feature. I locked my comments and send the copy to a friend hoping that he can't unlock the security. Fortunately, he can still post a reply to my comments in the output pdf that i sent. Good thing he can't delete my comments and corrections for documentation purposes.
My friend is new to this program too and I told him to explore if he can unlock my comments and told him what i did to locked it.
But he told me that he can unlock the comments that I created using the unlock feature. I wish that the program restricts the user to delete the comments in the pdf file that are created by other user.

Thank you!
Warm Regards,

Theoretically we can prevent unlocking of annotations that are created by other users, but we cannot guarantee another PDF program will 'honour' such rules ...

Thanks! I agree, I think it is a good thing that the viewer has a restriction. This is very useful when both party are using the same PDF-Xchange viewer.
I will try to test the functionality of the current restriction of the viewer with another software.

Thank you
