Moving layered objects in front or behind each other problem

Post by jeffreyeckmann »

I am encontering inconsistencies when layering objects. Sometimes a rectangle object (100% opaque, filled-in white to match background) will layer OVER a text box, and sometimes (on the SAME document) the text box will layer over the rectangle object. I checked all the options extensively and have not found a way to bring one object to the front layer or send an object to the back.also, cannot explain the inconsistencies in the default layering as described above.

John, your system won't let me attach a pdf file! I was able to create a text box with while fill so i did not need another rectangle to cover up the old text. However, I still don't understand why 1 white filled rectangle will cover a text box while another will not. Can you explain?

See John's sig. All attachments must be archived before attaching them. If you try to attach a PDF file you will see the message "The file type PDF is not allowed."

The layering is simply in the order that the objects are created. Text boxes created later will be on top of rectangles created earlier; rectangles created later will be on top of text boxes created earlier.

To change the stacking order cut the object that is below and paste it — it will now be the most recently created object and so will be on top.
