Changing default settings

Post by orangebicycle »

Hi
Just started using XChange Viewer after struggling with Adobe Reader for work-related PDF downloads. Can't believe how fast XChange Viewer is. It's like comparing a race horse with a donkey, and a very fat donkey at that. Just one thing, I need to change the default settings, from 'hand tool' to 'select tool', likewise the default size of PDFs from 100% to 150%. Can this be done? If so, how?
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

I like the comparison you used ;)

Now on your questions:
The Hand is always the default tool, but you could set up hotkeys for almost any command in our Viewer to help you quickly switch to your desired tool/command.
Just right click in the top toolbar area and go to Customize...

The default zoom level can be set up in Edit -> Preferences -> Page display, but this will take effect only if the document is not carrying it's own information about those settings (this is part of the PDF specification and any fime might have some default zoom level preset)

Regards,
Stefan
