Does Text touch-up and forms creation exist in PDF-Xchange?

Post by Victor Warner »

I am using the full version of PDF-Xchange but cannot find features which are available in an old (version 5.0) of the full version of Adobe Acrobat:

1. Touch-up text. Ie to select a line of text in a pdf and edit (ie delete or add characters).

2. Form creation

Help with these points would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Viktor,

For the moment neither of the two is available directly in the Viewer.

For editing text using our Viewer you can cover up the area you want with an e.g. white rectangle and then use the typewriter tool to add the new text over the covered area.

Form creation in the Viewer is planned for the future, and for the moment you can create web forms in Word and then use our Standard or PRO printing drivers to convert that word document to a PDF with editable fields.

Stefan

Thank you for the reply.

Regarding:

I have created a web form in Word (Word 2000) and tried printing using the PDF printer driver, but this did not create an editable form. Is there some special setting needed?

I would like suggest that feature is pdf-xchange is added. Is there a way to suggest features for future versions?

In Word you should be using the toolbar options rather than File -> Print to achieve the result and should also have checked the Convert Web Forms in preferences:

Direct editing of text is already planned for future versions of the viewer, but if you have any suggestions/requests there is a section in these forums where you could post your ideas.

Thank you. Got it now.

However, although new to creating forms, I am finding that using the lists and combo types, that on creating the pdf as you indicate, do not display correctly (a list box is shown in the attached).

However, I have access to the full version Adobe Acrobat 5.0. This is a more elegant way of creating forms then Word.
