Text stamp option?

Post by VECTORV3 »

Is there an option to create simply transparent text stamp with no background? In my papers I use several phrases which are long and boring to tape over and over. Thanks for any help.
In EFAX PDF editor it was easy to create such text stamp.

You can create transparent stamps from 32-bit PNG or from PDF files.

Thanks, looks like I have no knowledge " how to" . If you could be more guiding, like step by step I will be grateful. One more time thank you.

Hi VECTORV3,

we have an article in our Knowledge Base on exactly how to do this. The KB is a part of our new web site and is not ready for the general public. It is running on a development server and cannot handle large numbers of users so I will not post a link on this forum. If you email me at paul@tracker-software.com however I will send you the link.
Best regards

How do I create a transparent signature stamp?

Here is step by step instruction fro creating a transparent signature stamp using free-ware image manipulation software, GIMP, and PDF-XChange Viewer:

The following section (1-9) is not related to PDF-XChange - but is just an example of how to create a suitable image using a freeware application - naturally we make no guarentees or claims here - its just a suggestion - the 2nd section (10-14) is the 'PDF-XChange' instructions on adding a suitable image as a stamp.

Part 1:

1) Go to http://www.gimp.org/ download and install the GIMP application. (Graphical Image Manipulation program)
2) Sign your signature on a piece of paper and scan it to an image file, preferably .png
3) Run GIMP and open your existing signature file.
4) Using the rectangle selection tool, select your signature with as little white space surrounding the signature as possible, but don't be too stingy.
5) In the Menu click Image --> Mode and check it is set to RGB (change if it is not)
6) In the Menu click Layer --> Transparency --> Add Alpha Channel (Don't worry if you can't select this, it may already have an alpha channel)
7) In the Menu click Colors --> Color to Alpha then click ok on the dialog shown. The white background should now be removed, a checked pattern will be shown in the transparent parts of your image.
8) If you'd like to lighten or darken your signature, in the Menu click Color --> Brightness/Contrast and adjust accordingly, once you are satisfied click ok in the dialog.
9) Choose File --> Save As. Type a filename ending in .png and it will automatically save a 32bit png file of your signature.

Part 2.
10) In the Viewer Menu click Tools--> Comment And Markup Tools --> Show Stamps Palette.</strong>
11) Click New.. (Create New Collection) and type a suitable name like "Signature".
12) With your new collection selected on the left, "Signature" in the right pane click From Image...
13) Browse and select you signature.png file you just created and click Open. You should now see you signature image in the right pane, close the Stamps Palette dialogue.
14) On the toolbar click the drop down arrow&nbsp;of the stamps button and select your signature stamp, place it on you document accordingly.

You may of course use any decent image editing application to create your image to be used as a stamp.&nbsp; The import to PDF-XChange Viewer Pro will be the same
Best regards
