Desktop Icons

I downloaded and installed the beta of 42.10. Just keeps getting better. The files I am currently working on reside on my desktop. Sometimes this can be quite a few of them. When you are as old as I am and working on a laptop, the program icon and file icons are hard to distinguish from one another. Has anyone else experienced this? It would be an easy fix if other people have the problem. Thanks.
