Personalized Fullscreen View Proposal

Post by mkengel »

I am using your reader software mainly to read pdf books on a 10" screen of a netbook.
(turned 90 degrees, single page, fullscreen)

I am reading a lot scanned books, e.g. <http://www.archive.org/stream/japanexpe ... 6/mode/2up>
You can see that in these old books there is often a large border.

To view only the necessary parts of a pdf, it would be great if I could cut off some parts for fullscreen view, e.g. up= 5 cm, right= 2 cm; left= 2 cm and bottom= 5 cm thereby viewing only parts of the pdf, perhaps even storing the setting with the file.

And only somewhat related: what about extending your reader with ebook formats "reading" and "save as pdf" capability?

Cheers for the good software.

Hi, mkengel.

You may use special open-parameters for this:
/A "page=<page_index>&zoom=<zoom_percents>,<left_offset>,<top_offset>" "<YourPDF>"
example:
PDFXCview.exe /A "page=1&zoom=150,30,30" "C:\MyBestDocument.pdf"
...perhaps even storing the setting with the file.
Viewer can store last view information for each opened document.
For use this feature - switch on the 'Menu/Preferences/Page Display/Restore Last Used Layout and Zoom...' option.
And only somewhat related: what about extending your reader with ebook formats "reading" and "save as pdf" capability
May be, in the future...
