Hi all,
Our company currently uses the viewer embedded in a C# application. The viewer opens files via a web path. (using an online document management system)
The problem we are getting is only occuring on a few machines. The problem is that when we try to open a pdf the viewer returns that the file cannot be downloaded, however, the exact same path can be used on another computer with the same setup. The only difference that we can notice is that the ones where it doesn't work have IE6. All of the others have either Firefox or IE7 or IE8.
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or if anyone has any suggestions. I can't be 100% sure it's not the PDF-Viewer, well I'm at least 80% sure it isn't, but cant be sure.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Cannot Download File
Hello,
We have tried to reproduce this problem on two machines with IE6 with no luck. PDF-XChange Viewer AX works as expected. Can you tell us - do you experience such a problem only with your product (which uses the Viewer SDK) or also with PDF-XChange Viewer for End-users?

Re: Cannot Download File
Hi, thanks for the response.
Yes, the problem occurs with the PDF-XChange Viewer for End-users also. Just one thing to add is the path. For example, the path looks something like the following:
"http://yourserver/system/docs/Library/Customers/John Smith/signed_agreement.pdf?AUTHENTICATIONTICKET=sid-1234567812345678"
This path isn't a direct link to the file as it is stored in a warehouse, the site however builds the path and returns you the file. It obviously checks the users authentication also but in the cases we are getting below, the user has all the same permissions as the ones we tried on IE7+ etc.
Thanks.

Re: Cannot Download File
Hi doiley,
Is this happening with links where there is an exclamation mark in the session ID?
We had such a problem recently but it is already fixed for the next build.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Cannot Download File
Hi,
It could be that but the problem also occurs on pdfs that don't have any symbols in the path (except for the '?' before "AUTHENTICATIONTICKET="). Was the problem identified only happening sometimes or all the time? Because we are only getting it on some machines.
Is that build available for download yet so that I could test it?

Not yet - should be later this week/early next if all goes to plan.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
