Having major issues with the latest update under XP SP3, fully updated:
1. After download when trying to install , Sunbelt Software Counterspy sees the temp file the Install creates and blocks it reporting it as a known trojan. It has never had any issues with any other version of Viewer.
2. After forcing Counterspy to ignore and allow the install, it upgrades normally...until I go to print anything. While it all renders fine on the screen, when printing (and I've tried 3 different printers I have installed here: a Lexmark Optra 1255, a Minolta Magicolor and a Lexmark CN534), all thin lines on forms actually print as quarter inch thick solid blocks of black. Changing settings relating to smooth line art or text (which are normally set to on and have worked perfectly with these printers for years now) have no effect, it's all still huge blocks of black.
3. Tried a complete uninstall and a clean install of 2.0.45, with same results: Counterspy wants to block it as a trojan during install. If I turn off Counterspy and allow install I get the same issues trying to print on all printers.
Uninstalling and reverting to 2.0.42.9 solves the problems and everything is perfect again.

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
We have informed Sunbelt several days ago of this issue and requested they justify their blocking of the install - no other AV blocks that we have tested and no other users AV has reported issues.
We have had no reply from Sunbelt despite several repeat requests.
Likewise no other users report such printing issues - so I suspect something from your AV is still running in the background.

I think that's right. In the Sandboxie forum, we see many conflicts with disabled or "turned off" security apps. A temporary uninstall and reboot will confirm that or not. I'm guessing the user can save the settings on his AV app before uninstalling.John - Tracker Supp wrote:.

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
John I disabled Counterspy to allow the install of the update. After install Counterspy does not have any objection to the installed version of the Viewer, either when scanned or when run, so it is not interacting with the installed version 2.0.45 and the installed version 2.0.45 has the same printing issues even if I reboot with Counterspy not running...absent some other suggestion I think I'll just keep running 2.0.42.9 until the next update and see if things go 'back to normal'. There has never been an issue before and Viewer has always been trouble free here...weird...

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
Thanks all - and to follow up on this - have received this from Sunbelt today ..

CheersWe discovered an issue last week where partially downloaded files were being incorrectly flagged as malicious by Vipre's active protection. This issue has been corrected in definitions version 5645 and later. Can you please verify you have our latest definitions and let us know whether the issue you were experiencing is resolved?

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
LMAO...Vipre is their 'combined product' that includes anti-virus along with the Counterspy anti-malware. I don't use it. I have found a 'perfect combo' of 3 products that, despite what they sometimes warn, actually do not interfere and offer me protection of different lists: ESET NOD32 for antivirus, Counterspy (and NOT the full Vipre product) for antimalware and Webroot's Spysweeper (which now is anti-malware and antivirus, but I have the 'active portion of their av turned off). All 3 work perfectly together, total load on the cpu is really low (under 3%) and they each 'catch' different things.
In theory I shouldn't have any part of the Vipre engine here as all I pay for and subscribe to is Counterspy, but clearly they are no longer thinking of them as separate products...Webroot gave up: they tried to charge more for a product with antivirus, apparently sold almost none, and a few months ago simply added the av as a 'free' upgrade to their existing product...
I'll await your next upgrade where things, hopefully, will return to normal...

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
we will issue the next release later this week - most likely Teusday/Wednesday - but we also have our new web site going live this week too, so hopefully the 2 events wont clash and prove incompatible

Re: 2.0.45 Update issues
If possible, please send me the file you are having problems with printing. You can send it to my email: Ivan@tracker-software.com.Couperin wrote: 2. With lines there are two different problems (one with line width when printer's driver doesn't handle width with matrix; another one - with coordinates - for small lines it is a problem because the Windows GDI on which we rely uses integer coordinates) and it is not so easy to find compromise.
