[Suggestion] Possibility to add external PDF-Viewers

Hello!

I like the feature that you can open the currently active PDF in another installed PDF-Viewer.
It would be nice to be able to also add custom paths in case you also use portable PDF-Viewers.

With the best will in the world - there are limits to the flexibility we can offer and being frank our motivation to do so in supporting competing products - Adobe is an exception as it does historically set the standard - irrespective of how we might like to think things are ...

and if you need a portable Viewer - much better to use our's !

I'm sometimes in the need to have two PDFs simultaneously open, so I can switch easily between two different parts in the same PDF. I can absolutely understand if this isn't on your priority list.

As a matter of fact my preferred viewer is the portable PDF-XChange Viewer

You should be able to do this with PDF-XChange Viewer if you have the "Allow Multiple Instances" option turned on in the Preferences. This is on the "General" tab on the Preferences dialog (reached from the Edit menu).

Yeah, but that way every single PDF gets opened in another instance.

Hi Wops,

good that you use our portable viewer - so...

Set up the portable version in 2 different locations - set one to view 'mulitple instances' and the other to use Tab's - Bingo - you have what you need - as each will use its own settings.dat file.
