Scale Ratio

Sorry if I should have found this in the Help manual or FAQs, but I've been unable to! If I know the true distance between two points on my page, how do I set the Scale Ratio so that Distance and Area and Perimeter measurements display in true distance units?

and also there is a topic in our Knowledge Base touching the topic (it's for the general measurement preferences but it also mentions the measuring tool and how you can change that Scale ratio)
I have a problem with changing the units used in the "Measurement Tools"
