When printing emails (yahoo) to PDF, only first page written

Post by MikeLub »

Hello,

When printing emails (yahoo) to PDF, only the first page gets written to the file, regardless how many pages in the email. This function worked properly until maybe three weeks ago. I am not aware of having changed any settings at the time, although I have been mucking about since... I tried attaching a pdf output, but got a mesage it's not allowed.

HI Mike,

to attach a file you need to wrap it in an archive like zip or 7z etc.

I think what is happening - at least I found was happening for me was that if I use the PDF-XChange Toolbar to print an email when looking at my Yahoo inbox, I only get the first page, but if I use the Yahoo "Print" icon (next to 'Mark as Read' for me) then the Yahoo mail server generates a printer friendly version in a pop up window. If I use the PDF-XChange Toolbar or even File --> Print --> PDF-XChange I get the entire email in my PDF.

It would seem that the page must be rendered in HTML fully first.
Does that help?

As an aside - you mentioned that you had changed settings a lot. If you want to check if this is your settings you might consider saving your current settings to a file so you can retrieve them later:

Edit --> Export All Settings to Data File

then resetting your settings to default:

Edit --> Reset All Settings to Default

and you could import you original settings again any time.

Thanks for the quick reply, Paul. Using the Yahoo print button works as you stated. I purchased the PDF-Xchange package after our company switched to it, back in May 2009. Looking over my archives, I find that this may actually be the first time I've tried to print a multi-page email since my purchase. Apparently most of my correspondence is on the less than eloquent end of the literary spectrum, and my payment confirmations are single page documents. I had been totally oblivious to the Yahoo print button, so I thank you for educating me.

Live long and prosper,

Mike
