Comment/Mark up Object Selection

Post by ketter »

We find PDF XChange Viewer to be a great tool for marking up PDF files, but we are missing an important feature. Frequently we will create a notation in a PDF that will consist of text and multiple objects (such as lines, clouds, etc). That same notation will need to be copied to multiple locations in the PDF file. The problem is that we have to individually select each item before we can copy/paste it to another location. What we really need is the ability to drag a window and select all the objects at one time.

Is it possible to select multiple objects with a single command? If not, can this be added soon? Thanks!

Regards,
Ken

Hello Ken,

For the moment you can not select more than one object in the viewer.
This feature is planned for ver3 later this year.

For the moment what I can offer you is to create a stamp from those multiple markings you have created.
Once you have finished with them on one page - print only the mark-ups from that page to a PDF file - using e.g. our printing driver,
then create a stamp from PDF document and you will have i n this way all your items grouped together.

Another approach using only the Viewer might be to export the comments to a data file, create a blank PDF document (pro feature) and import your comments from data file. Now you need to flatten the comments (pro feature) and save the file - now you can create a stamp fron the resulting PDF.

Best,
Stefan

Stefan,

Thanks for the suggestions. We are currently running the Pro version, so I will try those out. Upgrading to version 3 will be an easy decision for us. I hope it arrives soon.

Ken
