Hi scholtensjack

I'm not clear from your post if you are using the search in PDF-XChange Viewer or the Windows 7 search. I think that you are searching through a folder of 72 documents and so will assume you mean the Windows search. Do I understand correctly?

Jack - are you saying you have 72 documents open at the same time in the viewer and searching these ?

You are aware that there is no need to open the documents in the viewer to search - if you installed PDF-XChange Viewer fully - this adds an Ifilter search option directly in Windows Explorer and you can search for the required terms in Explorer.

It would not be a surprise if you have opened 72 documents of any size - if your system is running low on resources ...

Please clarify if you are opening the files and searching in the Viewer - or taking advantage of the Ifilter enhancements in Windows explorer ..

Also - please conform the specific build of PDF-XChange being used from the 'About' Window - we are also releasing a new build today and this does have some small mod's which may be relevant - so an update before reporting back would be helpful if possible.

Thanks

Im not opening the files. The files are on my harddisk.
I open the program and use advance search.
In advance search i put in the name to search for and select the map where to search. And pusch the button search now (in Dutch nu zoeken).
The search start and the documentes with hits shows in the left window.
Afther a while when the program is searching i get the message from windows 7. the program PDF-Xchange shut down and have a clear start.

It would appear that some document specifically is causing this - please look at the Viewer Search panel and there - the document name being searched should be displayed.

Please note the name of this document and if not of a 'confidential' nature please 'zip' archive the file and post here - or possibly better if you use MS Outlook - use the 'Help ->Report a Problem' option in the Viewer as this will provide us with valuable system info like OS version and hardware resources available etc.

If you would prefer or its a problem - please email the file direct to us with a link in the email subject line back to this forum post - support@pdf-xchange.com

Finally - please make sure you are using the latest build 2.051 updated last night.

Thanks

Afther i selected the sources and klick on next the function disapeer.
When you press the 'Next' button, the viewer tries to launch the default MAPI client (please note: the default mail application and default MAPI client may be not the same especially when the default mail application is not MS Outlook (Express) or Windows is 64-bits).

Please zip this file, and send to us for us using support@pdf-xchange.com or Ivan@tracker-software.com (please note this topic number in your email).

Thanks Jack,

we got your email and the details of your system included. Unfortunately the file that was the one that caused the issue was not attached.
It would appear that some document specifically is causing this - please look at the Viewer Search panel and there - the document name being searched should be displayed.
This is the file we need you to send.

hi again scholtensjack

thanks for the file. The Dev team have been unable to reproduce the issue. They ask if you can supply the search criteria you used:
We're investigating this issue, but right now we can't reproduce the problem.
Would you be so kind to give us the search criteria that you entered in the advanced
search?
It would also help if you could send us a screen shot of the search when it fails,

regards
