Touch Up Text Tool
I had to use this tool to change 2 lines of text in Acrobat 8.2.3. There was a warning about having to use a system font as the original font was not available. Edited text is still seamless in Acrobat, but not in PDFXV where it does not match properly. I have attached screen shots and Courier font list in Document Info for both programs. It appears the document was created in PDF Create. Am I expecting too much in thinking it should look the same in PDFXV? Thanks.

Re: Touch Up Text Tool
Hi Arnold - the difference is explained in the fonts substituted by Adobe and ourselves - we have made different choices as you can see.
Whilst the screen shots are useful - even more useful (always) would be the PDF itself itself for analysis please, if possible.
And - whilst there are always going to be differences between one product and another - we obviously do our utmost to minimize these where ever possible in such underlying 'logic' (rather than programmatic or User Interface choices which we reserve the right to apply our own intuitve interpretation of what is correct and good (along with that of our users experiences and input)) we do try and follow Adobe's rules in the area relevant here if possible - once we have your file we will attempt to resolve this difference if possible.
Cheers

Re: Touch Up Text Tool
I understand. It came to my attention only because I did the same thing last year and I don't remember this. I get one of these yearly. I will check out last years also. It may be that the issuer prepared it differently. I tried using the Typewriter Tool to correct what I needed and that is pretty close. Can I e-mail the file to you?

Hi Arnold,
thanks for the reply and please do email - the best way is to use the option 'Report a Problem' under the help menu options - with a link back to this forum message for reference please.
If this is a problem (some email clients that do not use 'Simple MAPI' can prove problematic) then please send direct to pdfxview@tracker-software.com
Thanks

Re: Touch Up Text Tool
I used the touch up tool to adjust the same document with Acrobat 9.3.3 on a friend's computer. It worked fine and looked the same in Acrobat and PDFXV. I think the problem is with the Touch Up Text Tool in Acrobat 8.
One thing I did notice in switching back and forth between Acrobat and PDFXV. Acrobat would open the document zoomed to 134% while PDFXV opened it zoomed to 133%. I can then zoom PDFXV to 134% which seems to be the real "Fit Width" magnification I have set in PDFXV, and then the document appears almost identical in both programs.
I remember seeing this before with other documents. In the document itself everything is set to Automatic, but as noted above, PDFXV is set to open documents in "Fit Width" mode.
Also, in Initial View in PDFXV, Navigation View is Automatic, but the document opens in Acrobat 8 as "Page Only."
Thanks.

Hi, Arnold.
Cheers.
It is GUI dependant.
We cannot reproduce this issue. Please provide more detailed steps to do that. Also an example document would be most helpful.I remember seeing this before with other documents. In the document itself everything is set to Automatic, but as noted above, PDFXV is set to open documents in "Fit Width" mode. Also, in Initial View in PDFXV, Navigation View is Automatic, but the document opens in Acrobat 8 as "Page Only."
Cheers.
