Go to previous tab

Post by poiuz »

Hi, is it possible to add a new keyboard shortcut to switch to the previous tab?
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB would be preferred by me, since CTRL+TAB goes to the next tab and it would be the same behaviour as in other programs with tabs.

It would also be nice if there was an option to change tab switching behaviour. At the moment tabs are went through in order of when they were opened. Most of the time I wished it would simply switch to the next tab on the left or right.

Hello poiuz,

I will pass your Ctrl + Shift + Tab request to our dev team, and as for the way tabs are navigated - it is so as per numerous requests.
It turned out that most people want to navigate through them in the way they were opened rather the way they are currently arranged - will see if there are plans to allow changing the way tabs are navigated.

Best,
Stefan

Hi, poiuz.

We will add new keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + Tab" (Activate Previous Tab) into the next build(upcoming).

Best
Regards.

Thanks for adding this shortcut in build 54, but it seems to be working back to front.

In the Customize dialogue the shortcuts are set to:

Ctrl Tab = Next document
Ctrl Shift Tab = Previous document

However, after loading several documents by dragging them in sequence from Windows Explorer, Ctrl Tab goes to the previous document (left of the current documenut on the navigation tabs), while Ctrl Shift Tab goes to the next document (right of the current document on the navigation tabs).

There is no default shortcut defined for these actions. After clearing the defined shortcut in the customise properties dialogue, the blue arrow to reset the shortcut is greyed out.

A trivial bug perhaps, but easy to put right too I suspect.
