Hi
I'm using the free version of Xchange viewer on my PC (it's not a portable version). When I install I ensure the tick box relating to updates is ticked, but afterwards when I go into the Help menu, the Check for Updates option is always ghosted out, so I have to visit the site and install manually.
Should this option be working? - am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for help.

Re: Check for Updates
Hello JTDM,
For the moment the Check for Updates is not working when you used the .msi installer.
We are looking for a solution for that and as soon as we find it we will certainly introduce it.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Check for Updates
I still don't get updates when installed by the MSI-Installer.
Using PDF-XChange 4 PRO - MSI Installer 4.0183 PDFXCPro_x86.mis.
Will it be fixed or should I use the ZIP-installer in future instead?
By the way, the MSI-files where delivered as text/plain:
ISLE GmbH, Ilmenau.

Re: Check for Updates
Hi isle-gmbh
you should definitely use the .exe to make use of Live Update as we do not right now have a firm date for when that will be available in the msi.
What link are you using for the msi installer download so I can take a look at the mime type, it seems to be working for me using FF.
thanks

OK, I'll use the zip installer in the future.
One last question, when using a 64Bit Windows, which installer would you recommend?
Here the links I use for downloading PDFX:

Re: Check for Updates
Hello isle-gmbh,
We would recommend the .exe (or .zip) package, as it will auto detect that you have a 64 bit OS and will install the same files which would the x64.msi one, so you will have a fully working x64 application and live updater.
As for the opera and .msi - we are investigating.
Best,
Stefan
