feature to include symbols like check-mark .(of course you have suggested creation of stamps).but a feature as simple as inclusion of symbols as in MS-Word would be perfect.

If you set the default font to one like MS Arial Unicode or Code 2000 you can insert a whole load of symbols using the standard text tools.

The standard unicode character for empty check mark and filled check mark are ☐ ☑ which are unicode decimal code-points 9744 and 9745 respectively. You can copy and paste any symbols from character map.

It might be nice to have a character map built-in to PDF-XChange, but I don't know how much I would use it — I know the Alt codes for common symbols like bullets • (0149) or daggers † (0134) ‡ (0135), which I do use occasionally.
