Its not a function I would expect to find in a free PDF viewer, nor even in an expensive product like Adobe Acrobat. If your version of Word cannot open PDF files, try using OpenOffice. That will open PDF files in Draw, but its not a Word document.

Not many applications can open PDF files for editing. If they do, they are often imported in a format that is not well suited to editing. PagePlus is one of the cheaper solutions for editing PDF files, but the results are variable. If the PDF file doesn't contain text (some are just scanned images) then only OCR can convert that to editable text. Other PDF files will have problems with missing fonts. In most cases you will have to manually add headers/footers and page numbers where you want them.

The bottom line is, if you want a Word document instead of a PDF, ask whoever sent you the PDF for the source document they used to create it.

nicely put Bhikkhu,

in addition to Bhukkhu's comments you might want to take a look at PDF-Tools - it has rudimentary PDF --> Text/RTF/Doc conversion. https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-tools Do understand however that this is not an exact science and there may be formatting issues depending on the complexity of the PDF.

Additionally you might want to take a look at PDFTransformer by Abbyy Software. http://pdftransformer.abbyy.com/

They use the PDF-XChange engine and have taken the PDF --> Work conversion a step further.
