secunia rejecting

Post by stjamespark »

Secunia personal software security flagged the new version as insecure even after updating.
Any reason?

Dear Jim,

Could you please provide a link for this report after the update?
I could not find anything on the Secunia website related to a recent PDF XChange build.

Regards,
Stefan

I think Jim's talking about Secunia Personal Software Inspector flagging PDF-XChange as insecure — not any advisory on the Secunia web site.

I ran it, and found 11 programs were flagged including my copy of Foxit Reader, but PDF-XChange Viewer was not flagged.

I also ran this on my Vista PC. It reported a number of unexpected things including Adobe Flash, Open Office, Sun Java, the .NET framework and even Windows Vista itself.

PDF-XChange was not listed. I wouldn't be too worried myself but an email from you to Secunia might be a good idea. Was there anything useful on the "Forum link" for that warning?
Best regards
