Hi,
When using the area tool on a drawing the small info box helpfully shows the area, perimeter and scale ratio of the shape being measured, however once the the shape has been completed only the area and scale ratio is displayed.
Is it possible to leave the perimeter in the info box once the shape has been completed?
At the moment I have to make the shape using the area tool, then move the shape out of the way and make the shape again using the perimeter tool.
Any suggestions would be appreicated.
Regards
Colin

Re: Areas and Perimeters
Can't you just remember the perimeter or jot it down in notepad before closing the area?

I did try that but because the dim is dynamic whilst you are building the shape if you wander off to notepad the shape and dimension is cancelled.
Ideally the perimeter needs to be saved with the document so it is there for future reference next time it is opened.

Hi Colin,
your point seems reasonable to me. I have suggest this to the team as a long term item because the list of new features for V3 has been capped. Were we to do anything in this area it would not be until some time after it's initial release.
I am not sure if there is any PDF Specification related reason to do or not do this but when the time comes for the team to take a look at the suggestion I'm sure they will advise us.

Hi Colin,
just understand that my putting in a request does not guarantee the feature materializing. There may be a multitude of technical reasons this may be rejected. Think of it more as a wish list.

Hi Paul
Duly considered as a wish. Oops - there goes a shooting star - that must mean that my wish will come true
