New guy here

1) I HATE Adobe Acrobat.

2) I've been looking for a good, fast, reasonably priced PDF editor, for years.

3) I hate Acrobat, and I also hate Adobe.

4) I hate software subscription biz models, I don't want to rent software -- forever.

5) I ran across PDF-XChange, yesterday. So far so - amazing.

Question, I see in the bottom right when I have a PDF open, I see the adobe acrobat icon. I click it, then it opens the file in Acrobat.

Once I move to this program, will I ever need Acrobat again??? Are their PDFs that XChange has problems with???

Hello, Cain

The only item that comes to mind you may still need to Acrobat for would be filling in and signing "XFA" formatted documents - (which can be done with their free version)

As for the button you see in our software, that is configurable to use any software compatible with PDF files - we simply show a link to Acrobat as a default when it is detected as installed on your system, because it is one of the most widely used PDF software at this time.
As noted, you can configure whichever other applications you wish to use with this menu, here:

I tried out Xchange for a few weeks, and LOVE it. I bought Pro yesterday. Great work guys!

Welcome to the Forum, Cain. Sorry about your brother.

A couple of caveats:

• Unfortunately, there is no PDFXCE for the iOS O/S {YET} so you still need the dreaded Acrobat reader if you wish to read PDFs on Apple devices such as iPads.

• Whilst this app is not a subscription, there is a modest maintenance fee after a while if you wish to continue getting app updates which can be a few a year and are generally very good.

• This Forum is extremely useful, quite interactive, full of brilliant contributors including company staff, tolerant of newbies, and devoid of trolls.

• The developers actually take input from users and implement reasonable suggestions! How unique is that?
