Send by email problem

Post by NeoMustain »

Send by email gives me following error as per attached screen. Could there be a user friendly version of this to help me resolve this? What could be causing this.

Thanks.

The Viewer attempts to use your default email client as installed using the Windows 'Simple Mapi' option usually available - it would appear that your email client does not use and register within windows in this manner and therefore it cannot be 'triggered' by an external application such as our Viewer - once example of this is Lotus Notes.

Can you advise which email client you are using - I assume its not one of the usual suspects such as MS Outlook, Thunderbird etc ...

If 'MAPI' is not available I am afraid this cannot be resolved - but if you provide the above info we will try and be more informative as to any possible resolution.

Thanks
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Actually Thunderbird is installed and used as default. But the problem is still there. Does the system need mapi.dll in c:\windows\system32 folder? Or anywhere on HDD?

Thanks for trying to resolve ....

Hello NeoMustain,

Please have a look at this Mozilla KB article:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_mail_client
On how to set up TB as the default so that it can be used as your default mail client.

Best,
Stefan

You may also want to make sure that you set the default mail client while logged in as an Administrator.
When doing it as a regular user, it may not work ok on recent versions of Windows.
(actually it works ok, but it uses per-user settings that may confuse certain programs)
