Hi nurbed,

Thanks for the post - could you please detail the make and model of the printer that you see this with, as well as a download link to the Version of the drivers you are using?

Cheers,

The printer is a Olivetti d-Color MF220

This is a network printer. All my PCs have Windows 8.1 x64 that shows the printer like a Generic 36C-1SeriesPCL

If the Editor is doing the same thing there is a possibility that there is some issue with the way we are 'talking' to the printer driver. Have you upgraded the driver to use the latest from that website? If not, please update and test again, if so please post a link to the exact same driver and we will test against it.

It is very important that we test the same driver version and that it is the most recent from the manufacturer.

Please report that issue to the printer's manufacturer - the issues is not Editor's or Viewer's specific, but happens with ALL 64-bit applications when they try to access to printer's preferences of that printer.

Are you sure?
The previous version of Editor worked without problems...
I also tried some 64-bit software (Scribus and Photoshop CC) and I not have problems to open the printer's properties dialog.
Could still be a driver problem that occurs only in certain cases.

Hello nurbed,

I am pretty sure Ivan has tested some other 64 bit apps before posting the above, but I will ask him to confirm.
It is a statutory holiday in Canada today, so the guys there are not working and the reply will take some time (I am in the UK office).

Regards,
Stefan

ok, no problem
I can confirm that on my PC with the latest version of PDFXCEditor x64, the properties dialog box of printer crashes, instead Photoshop x64 and Scribus x64 work correctly. Also Libre Office 4.3.3.2 (x86) works correctly....

Hi nurbed,

I'll pass this to Ivan for further comment, though I cannot guarantee a response today, given that it's a holiday here.

We appreciate your continued patience!

Hi nurbed,

I've just heard back from Ivan, here's what he said:
Yes, I'm sure it is not our problem, but the driver's UI module passes the 64-bit pointer to DEVMODE structure as a 32-bit value (it is a common error during migration from 32 to 64-bits). Simplest way to test is to use simple apps, like Notepad or MS Paint, etc.
HTH!
