I would like to report an issue I noticed regarding the timing and positioning of tooltips in PDF‑XChange Editor.
- Resize the PDF‑XChange Editor window so that its width is narrower than the screen, and place it near the right edge of the screen. In other words, make sure part of the desktop background is visible on the left side of the window.
- Open a sample PDF file.
- Open the Bookmarks pane and disable the “Wrap Long Bookmarks” option under Options → View Options.
- Move the horizontal scrollbar of the Bookmarks pane all the way to the right.
- Hover the mouse over the row corresponding to the first bookmark item, which is now outside the visible area due to Step 4.
- Open the Named Destinations pane and widen both the Name and Page columns until a horizontal scrollbar appears. At that time, adjust the horizontal scroll var position so that the left edge of the Page column is just barely visible.
- Hover the mouse over the rows corresponding to each Named Destination entry in the Page column, which are now outside the visible area due to Step 1.
It appears that tooltips in typical Windows applications are displayed according to the following principles:
- Tooltips are shown only when part of the text is visible.
- Tooltips are shown at an appropriate position.
- Tooltips are shown even when the text is completely hidden.
- Tooltips appear at incorrect or unexpected positions.
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you for your hard work on this great software.
Best regards,
rakunavi
